FOUNDER OF INDWELLING DANCE
Aliza Rivka is a Dance Catalyst, Priestess, Embodiment Guide, Writer, Community Builder & Global Event Producer. She has helped thousands of people find more joy and freedom in their bodies through dance.
Aliza is the founder of InDwelling Dance, a movement method and community dedicated to embodying, elevating & empowering the divine feminine essence in this world.
After receiving her BA in Dance from Columbia University in New York City and dancing professionally for 5 years, Aliza had a near death experience that led her to more deeply explore the shamanic roots of dance.
Her passion for dance as a tool for transformation and consciousness led her to study at Sarah Lawrence College, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy. Aliza has spent over a decade studying and teaching movement. Her work is informed by modalities including the 5Rhythms, Continuum, Authentic Movement, Temple Body Arts and more.
In 2017, Aliza received smicha (ordination) via Kohenet: the Hebrew Priestess Institute. She has worked extensively as a ritualist and dance/movement guide in Jewish communities and also in geriatric care as a creative arts therapist.
Aliza is grateful to serve as a movement midwife dancing with humanity into a new story. Her ecstatic dance events build community and provide a playground for personal and planetary evolution. Aliza currently lives at the Imiloa Institute in Costa Rica, where she is the host and co-creator of Soul Sundays.
